So, as you all know. I'm an advocate for traveling, and I encourage all people to take as many long and short getaways as possible. But, I have a huge problem with the following. SEATS!! YES, SEVERAL DAMN SEATS ON PLANES!
Plane seating is never truly comfortable. Of course, there are those larger flights that head to places like Dubai and Asia and offer more comfortable arrangements, but other airlines do not. Seats are normally tight, and if you have a thicker body build, then you are going to have some complications.
For one, if you have a wider body type, some airlines will require you to buy two seats. As embarrassing as that may be, what makes it even worse is when you are told on a flight that you are too wide to sit next to the other passengers. Then, there is the seat belt. That stupid seat belt! Let me be the first to tell you, seat belts on a plane have recently become my worse enemy. Some seat belts are entirely too short! It is impossible to buckle in. My aggravation level raised to 89% when I could not manage to buckle my seatbelt on an American Airlines flight. Thinking that it was "big girl" problem, I witnessed other passengers struggle as well! No Bueno!
It's official, our country is indeed, getting bigger and we are also traveling even more than before. But because of this, airline accommodation need to move with the times. They need to figure out ways to make their flights a tad bit more comfortable. Maybe taking out a seat on one side or every other row, and getting longer seat belts for thicker bodies.
Now, the chances of this happening maybe slim but reality is, not all of us are slim. A person should not be robbed of an experience because of their size. And I know so many individuals who refuse to fly because if their weight and their previous run in with flight attendants on flights. Passengers shouldn't always have to change; airlines should be required to do some altering as well.
