There are a lot of assumptions when looking at the life of a travel guru. Some people are astonished as to how some of their peers are not only able to travel to exotic places but can do it at a rapid pace. Well, as an avid traveler who is also a Freelance Writer, I can inform you on certain things you didn't know about travel enthusiast.
1. They are not wealthy!
No. Most travelers make an average income, hell most may even work part-time or are freelancers. So, if you think that they are huge money handlers, chances are they are the complete opposite
2. What funding?
So, a friend you know just came back from a two-week vacation from Portugal and seen some of the most amazing sights there is to see. You're probably thinking "hmm, they must have gotten someone to pay for them or was sponsored?"...well...not exactly. You'll be surprised at the amount of sacrificing some travelers make to travel. I've heard of people cutting off their cable to travel. Some stopped eating out and started eating Ramen noodles on a consistent basis. Though this may seem extreme, the reality is many have done it. When it comes to affording trips, many save up, go on payment plans and even apply for credit cards that give deals when flights and hotels are purchased. Let's also not forget about the number of people who actually find discounted rates on trips and activities.
3. Seasons matter!
Most travelers make their way to the most extravagant places during off seasons. So, destinations that cost $2,000 in August can easily cost you $800 in February - March. Cheaper trips can easily turn into more frequent trips. The more, the merrier.
4. They JUST DO IT!
I know so many people who always express how much they want to travel but can't do it. That's the problem. You can! Someway somehow frequent flyers find a way to travel more. Whether they switch careers to become flight attendants, work for airline agencies, monitor spending or write for a wide range of publications to put a down payment on a trip, they make it work. When you want something, you go for it. No matter the obstacles or how hard it can be. Some people don't want it that much. Therefore they'll never go after it.
Now, of course, there are more ways as to how frequent travelers keep the momentum and travel the world. But don't let this discourage you and your next journey. Let this be the reason why you would want to travel more; because average people like you make it happen every chance they get, so why not you.
